CAPUCHIN FRANCISCAN LIVE-IN EXPERIENCE, 21st – 24th June 2025.
Nine Aspirants answered present on the evening of Friday, June 21, 2025. The Opening Mass took place, on Saturday 22nd June 2025 was presided over by Br. Derick Ajende on behalf of the Councillor for Formation Br. Peter Ghani. He thanked all who answered present and urged them to be attentive during their stay in the novitiate community. For this formation house is the summary of the Capuchin way of life and charism. He reminded them that it was a privilege to have their live-in Experience in the Novitiate House. He equally thanked the Vocation’s Coordinator, Friar Christopher Shiyghan for the Job well done. This day, Our Lady of Angels Fraternity- Sop was blessed to host an amazing “Come and See Live-in Experience, where nine incredible men joined us to explore their call to Religious Life with the Capuchin Franciscan Friars. It’s truly a weekend filled with deep prayer, reflection, and joyful moments of Fraternity. During this moment, our Aspirants experienced what it means to live as a Capuchin Friar. From the stillness of morning prayer to the shared joy of recreation. This helped them to be able to connect on a deeper level with each other and with God. The rhythm of daily Mass, the Divine Office and time for personal reflection permitted each participant to draw closer to the Lord and discern how He is calling them. JUNE 23, 2025 was recorded as the Second day with fresh LIVE- IN ECHOES. The weekend wasn’t just about prayer, though—it was also filled with fun and fellowship! We shared meals, stories, and laughter, enjoying simple but meaningful recreation activities that helped strengthen the bonds of brotherhood. Whether it was playing sports or engaging in conversations about life and faith, every moment was a reminder of the joy that comes from living in community.
Each of the men who joined us brought their own unique gifts and stories. As they move forward in their discernment journey, we pray that God will continue to guide them, opening their hearts to His will. It’s always inspiring to witness how God works in the lives of those discerning Religious Life, and we are excited to see where He will lead each of these men. The come together gave the opportunity to celebrate equally the birthday of one of the Aspirants as a Novitiate Community.
